The 17th Chapter of Exodus, verses 9 through 13, read as follows: "So Moses said to Joshua, 'Choose men for us, and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.' And Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought against Amalek; and Moses, Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill. So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands where heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it: and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sun set. So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of th sword."
Just as Aaron and Hur held up Moses' hands, we have prayer warriors in the Upholders room only during the Sunday morning and evening services to hold up the spiritual hands of the Pastor and/or other speakers. You cannot know how helpful this is to those in leadership positions. God strengthens and directs His people. We sincerely believe that the Holy Spirit is able to do even greater things during the services whenever you commit to be an Upholder, serving approximately one hour each quarter in the Upholders Room. This room is located in the balcony portion of the Sanctuary, on the organ side. You are able to hear and see the entire service while you are in the Upholders Room, if you wish. A speaker is located in the room and you may turn it on or off while you are there.
We praise God for the faithfulness of our Upholders and we depend on them. If you think you might be interested in serving in this way, please call the pastor at 236-1325.
